MODULE 1
Asana focus is on the hips and lower extremeties. We'll set the foundation for standing and seated poses. You will gain knowledge of hip, thigh and leg musculature. Then we'll move on to shoulders and upper extremeties where arm balances and active inversions are reviewed. Emphasis will be on the anatomy of asana. We'll also set the foundation for a meditation and pranayama practice.

MODULE 3
Backbending and twisting is covered in this module. You'll learn more about both passive and active versions of both categories of poses. Pranayama and meditation practices are further developed. Principles of Ayurveda are introduced. Students begin developing their own class sequences. We expand our discussions and practice of of kriyas and chantings along with those of the Yoga Sutras and the Bhaghvad Gita.

MODULE 2
This month will focus on the spinal column: forward bends and backbends in standing, seated and reclining poses. We will look at common health conditions and how to work with students limitations. Discuss of the yamas and niyamas - the ethical aspects of yoga is introduced and you begin teaching to small groups.

MODULE 4
Restorative yoga is covered in this module - and the other end of the spectrum with Vinyasa! Greater analysis and practice of using props to support students in restorative poses and various breathing practices are experienced as part of the vinyasa study. Teaching to the community is in effect. We'll also look at how to market yourself to the community and other business related issues.
