Meghann began practicing yoga in 1997.  After coming to know
the quiet peacefulness and steadfast confidence that yoga
provides, she realized that she wanted to share this with
others.  In 2008 Meghann received her teaching certificate from
The Yoga School where she studied under Nancy Kirkland and
Zo Newell.  She is also registered with Yoga Alliance.
Meghann continues to study regularly at The Yoga Room with
Nancy and is excited to be able to share her knowledge and
experiences with her students.
A resident of Nashville since 1986, Beth has been practicing yoga
for fifteen years and teaching for the past eight.  At the Baptist
Fitness Center, where she has taught since 2001, Beth works with a
variety of students: beginners, pregnant women, patients recovering
from cancer, athletes and older students.  She graduated from The
Yoga School in 2006 and is a Registered Yoga Teacher through
Yoga Alliance.  Beth studies with Jan Campbell and substitute
teaches for her.  She is also a licensed counselor in private practice
using a style that is client-centered, focusing on empowerment and
pursuing insight through a mind/body connection.  Her specialty is
working with women who have been abused.  Visit her

Zo discovered yoga when she was 14, under the guidance of Rammurti
Mishra of Ananda Ashram (New York) and Sita Frenkel, of the Divine Light
Society. Her enthusiasm for Indian philosophy and practices have taken
her to India thirteen times. She earned her Master's degree in Theological
Studies at Harvard Divinity School with a focus on religions of the Indian
subcontinent. Zo holds a Relax and Renew Advanced Trainer Certificate,
was a founding member of SIYI and co-founded The Yoga School.  Zo
published her first book, "Downward Dogs and Warriors: Wisdom Tales
for Modern Yogis" with the Himalayan Institute which received a Nautilus
silver medal for best book in 2007.  Zo is currently “All But Dissertation” in
a doctoral program through Vanderbilt’s Graduate Dept. of Religion.  Her
main area of concentration is  modern Hinduism, and the role of story and
image in identity formation. She is fascinated by yoga's transformative
power, and describes herself a "contemplative yogini wannabe."

Yoga came to me around 1970 or 71 when I was about 12 years old.  I
have vivid memories of practicing yoga on the carpeted family room floor
along with Lilias Folan, thanks to our local St. Louis Public Television
station.  She was a great role model - a woman with a dedicated practice
aimed at exploring and bettering herself, enviable long hair and most
importantly, the ability to share herself with so many strangers. In the early
days it was Lilias and Richard Hittleman's books that guided my practice.
It was in the late 1980's that I began taking classes and I have had the
guidance of many skilled instructors over the years.  I didn't know at the
time how gradually, yet how powerfully, a yoga practice would influence
my life.  And to a great extent, owning The Yoga Room and teaching yoga
full time for nearly a decade just came to me.  I have loved every
moment of it.  I'm thoroughly enjoying the addition of the fabric slings to
my personal practice and thrilled to be offering aerial classes at the
studio, along with a first rate teacher-training program and regular
workshops with superbly credentialed teachers: Ramanand Patel,
Roger Cole and Patricia Sullivan.  Their teachings have been immensely
important in my growth as a practitioner and teacher and it's always an
honor to host them.  I hope you will visit the studio.  You will be warmly
welcomed and in the best of hands at The Yoga Room.
