The class encourages deep abdomen breathing, hip opening, and spinal flexibility to create a ready and open body. Visualizations and mantras for the mind complement the practice to nurture a sacred and peaceful path into motherhood. about Amanda Amanda has created a life of studying movement arts. Her evolution began with varied disciplines through gymnastics, modern dance, and capoiera, yet her present focus revolves completely on the philosophy of yoga. She received her 1,000-hour Hatha certification with Iyengar instructors Betty Larson and John Charping at the Southern Institute of Yoga Instructors. In 2004 she moved to NYC to further her studies and trained in Katonah Yoga with Elizabeth Andes-Bell. Her explorations in Katonah Yoga, a method steeped in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoism, opened the physical structure of the practice, exposing energetic harmony between one’s body and the surrounding natural world. A two-month journey through India in 2009 allowed her to thrive, enriching her practice and deepening her teaching intentions. Amanda is currently director and co-teacher of the Teacher Training program at Om Factory Yoga Center in New York City, a 200-hour Hatha Vinyasa registered school. She actively teaches classes, workshops, and retreats to students of all levels imparting the balance of power and peace in the practice. Recent retreats to India, Mexico, and Italy have spread her therapeutic and compassionate touch worldwide. Amanda’s love for humanity blends with the energetic flow of nature to create a yoga experience both personal and present in our ever-evolving world. |
