This is a classic Hatha Yoga class practiced in an intentionally heated room to warm your muscles, prevent injuries and allow for a deeper release in your body. The movements and breathing reach deep into the tissue, relieving tension and stress, while the vigorous pace steadily assist you in building strength, vitality and overall well-being. This very physical form of yoga is designed to bring balance and well-being into your life. It is the perfect lifetime fitness program, great for weight loss, detoxifying your body and simply feeling great. It is totally different from any other kind of exercise in strengthening and stretching all areas of the body. What to bring? Yoga mat, beach towel, hand towel, water bottle, be prepared to sweat. Try this affordable and convenient class at The Yoga Room, and see if it makes a difference in your day! about John From a younger age, I was always drawn toward a spiritual way of living with emphasis on choosing happiness and being of service to others. Discovering my first general stretching class in 1997 and then becoming a regular Bikram Hot Yoga student in 2001, I found that a regular practice of yoga not only increases strength and flexibility, but also helps to quiet the mind and nourish the soul both on and off the mat. My practice evolved into completing an RYT 200 hour Teacher Training in New York in 2010 with Jimmy Barkan. Barkan is a 30+ year Hot Yoga teacher who brought the hot yoga lineage to new heights by broadening the standard 26 posture base, placing great emphasis on proper alignment concepts, and returning the overall focus of Yoga to the on-going development of body, mind and spirit. In class, you may hear me share the notion that a yoga class is mostly a physical postures class - with great benefits - yet the yoga lessons actually begin once you leave the room. My wife Vui (a.k.a "Happy") and daughter Lily Grace and I live in Franklin with our spoiled-rotten dogs Bucko and Daisy. |
